Microsoft recently released its new Terminal app called windows terminal and it’s a open-source tool, yes you heard it right 🙂
It supports multiple tabs where you can centrally manage CMD, PowerShell, SSH, WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux). The most important thing is you can customize it through a JSON file. As this is open-source, you can download/clone from below Github repo and customize it further.
The windows terminal is available via windows store in Windows 10. You can search for it and directly install it from there. However, the minimum version of Windows 10 required is the Feature update to Windows 10, version 1903.

To install the windows terminal first you need to search it in the windows store as shown above, and once installed you will see a screen as below
Once you click Launch, the Terminal will appear as below
As you can see in the above picture, three tabs are opened, CMD + Powershell + Azure Cloud Shell.
This is really cool ! And something I really liked from Microsoft.
